How to Craft A Lentil Burger Paired with Sweet Potato Fries

Creating a delicious, wholesome, and unique meal doesn't have to be a daunting task. I’m here to guide you on how to craft a lentil burger, paired with sweet potato fries and a whiskey coke float. This meal combination is ideal for every foodie out there who appreciates the balance between healthy, scrumptious, and delightful food and drink.

The lentil burger is not just a great source of protein. It's also packed with fibers that will keep you full for longer periods. Lentils are hailed for their versatility in the culinary world and crafting them into a burger introduces a texture and flavor that's unlike anything you'll find in the standard meat option. We'll guide you on how to prepare it in a way that packs a punch in terms of taste and innovation.

Sweet potato fries, on the other hand, offer a delightful twist to the regular potato fries. Sweet potatoes are packed with vitamin A and fiber, and have a lower glycemic index than regular potatoes, which can help maintain blood sugar levels. Their natural sweetness combined with a crispy texture creates a side dish that can brighten up any meal.

To wash it all down, there's nothing more satisfying than a whiskey coke float. This adult spin on the classic kid-friendly drink highlights the smooth, smoky flavors of whiskey combined with the fizzy classic cola and finished off with creamy vanilla ice cream. This drink is not only a crowd-pleaser, but it's also the perfect way to end this hearty meal.

Sweet potato fries

Wash your hands. In the Veganish Kitchen, hygiene is of the essence.

Cut the sweet potatoes with a very sharp knife.

Cut them in half and keep your fingers out of the way. You can make them thicker. Or you can cut them into wedges.

Take the sweet potatoes and put them on a flat surface so that you have a steady surface to work on. The thing about sweet potato fries is that they have so many nutrients. They are root vegetables and are part of the Morning Glory family.

The sweet potatoes should take about 20 minutes to cook in the air fryer, but you can also bake them in the oven at 400 degrees for about 25 to 30 minutes. If you want to prep the fries, you can do that by sticking them in the freezer.

When it's time to turn them in the air fryer, it will probably take a little longer because they're coming from the freezer. If you lay them on a wax-lined tray and put them in the freezer, let them freeze for about 10-15 minutes just to get a little firmness around them. You can stick them into your freezer bag and put your date on there. That way you can know what day you cooked.

Dribble and drizzle some olive oil over them. You can use avocado oil or grapeseed oil. Both work well.

I would recommend if you are using the oven, them at 425 or 450 degrees and cook them with avocado or grapeseed oil because they have a higher burn than olive oil.

Sprinkle some salt on the sweet potatoes and mix them up to incorporate the salt.

Add some garlic powder and mix up the sweet potatoes to incorporate the garlic powder.

Add some dried parsley, which you can also use fresh, and mix them up to incorporate the parsley.

Put it into the air fryer at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

Lentil patty

  • Put the precooked brown lentils in the bowl. I cooked them with vegetable broth, brought it to a boil, and turned it down to simmer for about 30-45 minutes until they were tender.

  • Put half a cup of canned white beans in the bowl.

  • Put some brown precooked rice.

  • Add half a cup of chopped onions.

  • Add 3 or 4 cloves of garlic that have been minced. You can use as much or as little garlic as you like. If you don't like fresh garlic, you can use a teaspoon or two of garlic powder.

  • Add some parsley to the bowl.

Building the burger

Build the burgers using the following ingredients: Toasted buns, special dairy-free sauce, vegan dairy-free cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and sauce.

Add Vegan Worcestershire sauce. You can use regular if that's what you have or love. But this is the Veganish Kitchen. What this does is that it's going to give it more of a flavor full of meatyness. It also adds some saltiness.

Sprinkle some salt.

Wipe about a third of three-fourths of a cup of mushrooms with a damp paper towel and dice them. Add them to the bowl.

Mix up the ingredients.

Mash up the ingredients.

Make the patties and sprinkle and spread olive oil on top of them.

Put them in the oven at 400 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Flip them at around the halfway mark.

Whiskey Coke

The ingredients are peanut butter whiskey, dairy-free oat ice cream, whipped topping, and regular Coke.

  • Put three scoops of ice cream into two large clear-glass mugs.

  • Add a shot of whiskey to each mug.

  • Add the other ingredients. Stir with a straw so you can get a little bit of creaminess and some of the peanut butter whiskey-ness.

Enjoy.
